Anticholinergics and Antimuscarinics: these drugs slow down the contractions of the bladder wall, relaxing the bladder and decreasing the need to urinate. Commonly prescribed anticholinergics include:

 ·         Oxybutinin (also available as a transdermal patch)

·         Tolterodine

·         Darifenacin

·         Trospium

·         Vesicare

·         Toviaz 

 Betmiga (Mirabegron)

 Mirabegron is a once-daily, beta-3 adrenoceptor agonist for the symptomatic treatment of urgency, frequency and/or urgency incontinence. It works by stimulating  the beta-3 receptors in the muscle of the bladder causing relaxation of the bladder muscle and improving storage capacity without impeding voiding. 

Desmopressin: This can be used to reduce urine output from the kidneys and thus reduce the amount of times you need to urinate during the night. This medication must be prescribed by a doctor. 

Alpha Blockers: These are medications which relax the muscles of theprostate and improve urinary flow. Commonly prescribed alpha-blockers are: 

·       Doxazocin mesylate

·       Terazosin HCI

·       Prazosin HC

I·       Tamsulosin   

Tri-Cyclic Anti-Depressants: These are sometimes used to treat urge incontinence and may be useful because of their ability to slow down the contractions of the bladder smooth muscles. Commonly prescribed tricyclics are:
